Goslar, Germany
Day 3: Germany's Fairy Tale Highway - Thursday, August 10, 2023
We left Hamburg this morning and headed to the town of Hannoversch Münden. On the way, we stopped at the historically important mining town of Goslar. The Old Town of Goslar and the Mines of Rammelsberg are UNESCO World Heritage Sites for their millennium-long testimony to the history of ore mining and their political importance for the Holy Roman Empire and Hanseatic League. The history of this town is amazing and the Old Town was a joy to walk through with the beautiful architecture. |

Our Guide Jutta had a nice surprise for us in Goslar - a beer tasting. Brauhaus Goslar is a craft brewery in a listed building in the heart of the historic Old Town of Goslar. We tasted four beers and all were very good. The charcuterie board was a great added touch and also very tasty.

After our Goslar visit, we continued on to Hann. Münden (short for Hannoversch Münden) where we would stay for the evening. Hannoversch Münden is famous for its half-timbered houses, some of them more than 600 years old. There are 10 million cobblestones around the town. The half-timbered houses were a beautiful sight to behold.
